Trinity  Baptist Church has been serving the community in Bexleyheath since 1868, but like any church, it is only able to continue as long as there are members and friends who are committed and able to undertake the various tasks that are needed.
Trinity has always wanted to reach out into the community and has been proud to be associated with the Bexley Centre for the Unemployed for many years. We also have a strong youth presence and run a varied programme of activities throughout the year for all ages. However, we also have other activities with all ages represented from babies to retired members and friends. Trinity is a place for our own members and the wider community:

Baby & Co - a place for parents and carers with young children.

Oasis - a place where people can meet and find someone to talk to over a snack and a drink.

Women's Groups - a place where women can meet. We currently open the building to a Bangladeshi Women’s    support group.

Children's and youth activities - a place where children and teenagers can meet and enjoy a good time together.

A spiritual home - a place where people can meet with God.

A new experience - a place where increasing numbers of people are coming each week and where the Alpha Course is bringing a new insight into spiritual matters.

An inclusive church - a place where people from varied ethnic backgrounds come to meet to worship .

A community church - a place with links borough wide: Our Pastor, Terry Griffith, is the Baptist Borough Dean.

Two of our members support borough schools through the work of Christian Resources in Bexley Schools (C.R.I.B.S.).

A part of the global church:
We support missionaries all around the world as well as in this country and, where we can, assist individuals and teams of people to take part in short term placements in various countries.

We have links with Holy Trinity Baptist Church in Tula, Russia and arrange regular exchange visits.

Trinity is always looking for ways to attract people and with this in mind we are continually reviewing what we do to make it relevant to the community which we serve.
A church for you!
Leaders
The Minister is the Revd Dr Terry Griffith who likes to be known as Terry. He can be contacted on 020 8303 5858.

We also have a number of Deacons who are elected to serve the church for a period of 3 years and given responsibility for certain aspects of church life.

Currently we employ, in addition to the Minister, a part time administrator, Peter Sanger and and a part time baptist minister who oversees the envangelism ministry of the church Martin Seymour.

Members
Trinity has about 170 members, all of whom believe in Jesus as the risen Son of God and the Bible as the Word of God. We have all confessed Jesus as our Lord and Saviour by making our own decision to be baptised in water as believers. Many members devote their time, skills and abilities to areas such as music, administration, youth work, publicity, work among the retired, catering and work with mothers and toddlers to name but a few.

Photographs of the Minister, Deacons and many of the church members and regular attenders can be found at the front of the Chapel to the left of the platform. The names of those responsible for various activities of the church can be found  in our magazine.

Sundays
We meet every Sunday morning at 10:30. There are separate group activities for children and young people aged 3 -18, except when we have a ‘Family Service’ when we all stay together. A crèche for the under 3’s is also available. Please feel free to ask the stewards at the door for further information about this.

We also meet at 7:30 pm for worship at ‘The Point’ - a more interactive service aimed at the young and young at heart. Both services are  followed by refreshments. Please stay and meet with us over tea, coffee or a soft drink.

Twice a month we include communion in the service. This is an opportunity for all Christians to remember Jesus’ sacrifice for us. If you do not normally participate in communion, then please feel free just to watch and  listen.
Weekdays
Children's and Young People’s activities.

We run a programme of activities for 0-18 year olds during term-time. Trinity has a child protection policy. If you would like to see a copy of it, please ask the Pastor.

Small Groups
Joining a small group is a good way of getting to know people in the church. Several of these meet during the week and some have a special focus. If you are interested in joining  a small group, please see the appropriate Deacon.

Connections:
Trinity is a large busy church. In addition to our own activities, we join with other Christians locally, under the banner of “Churches Together in Bexleyheath” for various events and initiatives. We also have links nationally with other churches, through our membership of the Baptist Union of Great Britain and the Evangelical Alliance.
Please note…

The church members are responsible for the  financial support of the work at Trinity. It is important therefore, as our guest, that you do not feel obliged to contribute to the offering when this is taken, as we are simply glad to have you among us.

The ground floor of the church is equipped with an induction loop for people with hearing difficulties.

If you would like prayer, please see Terry, our Pastor, one of the Prayer Ministry Team, or leave a note in the Prayer Request box in the middle hall.

Information:

Information about our services and, weekly and other special events can be found in our weekly news sheet, our monthly magazine.
