Jesus said “go and be baptised”
That’s exactly what we do here at Trinity. When Jesus comes into your life, it is natural to want to follow Him. He was baptised in the river Jordan by John the Baptist.

Baptise means to ‘immerse’ and at Trinity beneath the stage we have a full immersion pool just for that purpose.

Prior to the ceremony itself, those about to be baptised will tell their personal story of how Jesus has come into their lives and how he has been changing them from within by his Holy Spirit.

The baptismal pool symbolises the grave and we enter the pool carrying with us all of our old thoughts and ways. Before all present we commit our lives to Jesus and as we are immersed below the surface of the water we die to the past. As we re-emerge we are renewed and resurrected as Jesus was when he died on the cross and then rose again. Hallelujah!

As we stand in the warm water dripping happily, we are prayed over and the worship team play our own choice of song and everyone sings.  You can probably imagine these services are often tearful and always joyful occasions and friends and family are usually powerfully moved.
